TRACECA and ROCB: new perspectives for cooperation in the field of customs

During the meeting, views were exchanged on the activities of each organisation and possible perspectives for cooperation in the field of customs administration.

The Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, Mr. Assavbayev A.A. noted that 13 out of 14 customs administrations of the TRACECA countries are the ROCB members.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibility of jointly organizing advanced training courses, seminars and other educational activities for the customs administrations of the TRACECA corridor member countries, considering the experience of previously held courses under the auspices of ROCB.

The participants of the meeting also confirmed that a potential area of cooperation is the simplification and harmonisation of customs transit procedures through the development of digitalization process in the region.
 
The sides agreed to share best practices on border crossing issues and experience in order to develop the transit system in the region as a whole, as well as systematic exchange of information between customs.

The ROCB representatives also expressed their willingness to assist in the preparation of the Action Plan to organize and conduct joint courses.
