On the 27th of April, 2012, a contract was signed between the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Armenia and the Spanish company ''Corsan Corviam Construccion SA'' in the Government of the Republic of Armenia, according to which the Company was announced the winner of the Open International Tender on Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Tranche 1 /Yerevan-Ararat and Yerevan-Ashtarak/ and Tranche 2 /Ashtarak-Talin/ announced by the ''North-South'' Road Corridor Investment Program.

The project aims at high-speed concrete-cover highway with 100 km/h of speed and 4 traffic lines.

The anticipated duration of reconstruction and rehabilitation works for the road sector Tranche 1 /Yerevan-Ararat and Yerevan-Ashtarak/ is 18 months, and for the road sector Tranche 2 /Ashtarak-Talin/ - 36 months.
