The meeting brought together more than 100 representatives of business and government bodies of the MLA Parties, including customs authorities, the ministries in the field of transport, national associations of carriers and forwarders, seaports, shipping companies, logistics operators, as well as National Secretaries of the PS IGC TRACECA in the MLA Parties.

Among the main objectives of the meeting, determining the interest of business in solving existing issues, including infrastructure development, exchanging views on further development of transport, as well as identifying the need for a permanent business platform for interaction among representatives of the private sector of the MLA Parties should be noted.

"Within TRACECA, there is a conceptual understanding of the possibility of establishing a Business Council as a platform for business cooperation and joint improvement of transport conditions. At the same time, in order to make a decision on its establishment, it is important to hear the opinion of the business itself, how important it is to establish such an institution and what are the expectations from such a structure. In case of support, a mechanism for establishing the TRACECA Business Council will be worked out," was noted in the address of the Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA Assavbayev A.A. to the participants of the meeting.

As part of their speeches, the speakers of the meeting highlighted a number of issues in the transport sector that need to be addressed, which is what the business platform in the TRACECA region is designed to serve in the future. "In particular, the harmonization of legislation in TRACECA countries, improving the efficiency of transport procedures, optimizing transit time, simplifying transit procedures, providing support to carriers through the TRACECA business platform, digitalizing the document flow, implementing the port community system and supply chain systems, and other issues."

The participants of the meeting noted that joint activities will contribute to the further improvement and competitiveness of the corridor at the international level.
