On April 11, 2023, a meeting dedicated to the coordination of the interested parties’ positions on the text of the draft Agreement on a Single Transit Permit TRACECA was held in Baku via web conferencing

The participants considered the proposals received from the Republic of Kazakhstan to the text of the draft Agreement. It should be noted that some similar proposals were also previously submitted by the Tajik Party.  

During the discussions, a survey of representatives from each of the Parties was conducted in alphabetical order and overall, 14 items of the Comparative Table were considered. Representatives of the Iranian Party noted the presence of a number of comments to the draft Agreement.  

On the outcomes of the meeting, participants decided to hold an additional meeting in order to discuss the remaining proposals to the text of the draft Agreement.

Summing up, the Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, Mr. A. Assavbayev thanked all participants for their active participation and constructive work during the meeting.

The STP Agreement is focused on liberalizing permit systems in TRACECA region and simplifying road freight transport between countries due to the influence of the permit factor felt in relation to long-distance transport through the territories of several countries, which involves the necessity to obtain several permits.
