Safety Management Initiative kick-off workshop, Tbilisi, 23-24 January 2013

This was the launching event of the Safety Management (SM) Initiative with a purpose to lay foundations for future SM-related activities. EASA experts on safety and quality management explained the EU and ICAO approach to safety management, relevant rules, work of international bodies (SM International Collaboration Group, ICAO SM Panel) as well as the Agency’s internal Integrated Management System. TRACECA states presented their experiences. This activity will be followed up by training on the State Safety Programme (SSP) and European Aviation Safety Programme (EASP). In addition on-the-spot support will be provided in performing gap analyses and assessing the implementation of SSP.
