Permanent Secretariat of the IGC TRACECA expresses congratulations to the entire transport community on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Sustainable Transport, which is celebrated on November 26 all over the world

The General Assembly called on all interested parties to celebrate World Sustainable Transport Day by holding educational events aimed at increasing public knowledge about sustainable transport, in particular, strengthening intermodal transport, promoting sustainable transport and creating a socially inclusive transport infrastructure.

For its part, in order to ensure the development of sustainable transport in the TRACECA region, the Permanent Secretariat is working in such areas as digitalization, containerization, the introduction of electronic transport documents, including the possibility of using blockchain technology, improving the efficiency of shipping lines, simplifying border crossing procedures and other issues.

- On May 16, 2023, the United Nations General Assembly declared November 26 as World Sustainable Transport Day. This decision is another important step towards promoting sustainable cooperation in the field of transport and promoting global commitments under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Agreement, the New Urban Agenda and the Political Declaration on Improving Global Road Safety.
