On February 9, 2023, the Meeting of Permanent Representatives (National Secretaries) of the Permanent Secretariat of the IGC TRACECA was held

During the meeting, TRACECA Secretary General, Mr. Assavbayev A.A. summarized the results of work carried out by the Permanent Secretariat last year, including the main events and necessary measures for the implementation of initiatives within the framework of the development of the TRACECA corridor, in particular, the holding of the Second Workshop on customs issues on TRACECA routes with the assistance of EU TAXUD, ADB and WCO, the second Workshop on the use of the CIM/SMGS consignment note along selected TRACECA railway routes, audit of financial statements on the execution of the budget of the PS IGC TRACECA for 2022 approved by TRACECA member states, as well as additional discussion of the initiative to establish the TRACECA Fund.

The Permanent Representatives (National Secretaries) took part in the work of the last meeting, experts of the TRACECA MLA member states and staff of the Permanent Secretariat, who reviewed information on the work done by the MLA Parties.

Within the framework of the Meeting, the participants of the Meeting heard and approved the submission of the draft Agreement on visa-free travel for professional drivers along the TRACECA corridor, the draft decision of establishing the TRACECA Business Council, Working Group on Digitalization of the TRACECA corridor, Methodology of evaluating road checkpoints and the Vessel Concept proposed for transportation on the Caspian Sea to the Sixteenth Annual Meeting.

In addition, the Meeting heard information from the Iranian Party about the readiness to hold the Seventeenth Annual Meeting of the IGC TRACECA in the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2024.

Following the Meeting of the Permanent Representatives, the final package of documents of the Sixteenth Annual Meeting of the IGC TRACECA was approved.
