On December 05, 2023, a Meeting of the Permanent Representatives (National Secretaries) of the PS IGC TRACECA was held in Tbilisi

The meeting was attended by the Permanent Representatives (National Secretaries) of the Permanent Secretariat of the IGC TRACECA and experts in the MLA member-states, representatives of the Georgian Party chairing the IGC, as well as the team of the Permanent Secretariat of the IGC TRACECA.

As part of the opening of the meeting, the Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, Mr. Assavbayev A.A., expressed sincere gratitude to the Georgian Party for assistance and support in holding the Meeting, and welcomed the representative from Turkmenistan represented for the first time at the Meeting of the Permanent Secretariat as a member country of the Basic Multilateral Agreement.

In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia welcomed all participants and noted Georgia's role in the development of the TRACECA corridor and active involvement in pilot initiatives and projects implemented within TRACECA.

Along with this, the Deputy Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, Mr. Batyr Annayev, emphasized in his speech the role and importance of TRACECA for Turkmenistan.

In accordance with the Agenda, the TRACECA National Secretaries reviewed and discussed the report on implementation of the Action Plan for 2022-2026 for implementation of the Strategy of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA for development of the international transport corridor “Europe-the Caucasus-Asia” for 2016-2026, information on the results of the Multilateral Permits System, report on freight traffic statistics along the routes of the TRACECA corridor for 2022, etc.

On the outcomes of a detailed discussion, a draft Memorandum of Cooperation between the Organization for Cooperation between Railways and the PS IGC TRACECA was agreed for further work with OSJD.

The meeting participants also reviewed documents on the establishment of the TRACECA Business Council. The countries will continue to work on this issue within a specialized meeting to finalize the text of the document.

According to item 7 of the Agenda, the composition of the auditing team on the execution of the budget of the PS IGC TRACECA for 2024 was reviewed, and the draft budget of the PS IGC TRACECA for 2024 was agreed on for subsequent approval during the Seventeenth Meeting of the IGC TRACECA.

In addition, Türkiye Party announced proposals for cooperation within TRACECA, the details of which will be sent to the MLA Parties additionally.

As a result of the meeting, the National Secretaries agreed to continue active work in the countries to promote TRACECA initiatives.

In general, arrangements were reached on all issues on the Agenda, which are formalized by the corresponding Final Recommendations. The final documents will be sent to the MLA Parties.

- Since February 10, 2023, Georgia has been the Chairman Party in the IGC TRACECA.
- TRACECA includes the transport system of 14 participating countries united by the idea of developing the international transport corridor Europe-the Caucasus-Asia.
