On December 01, 2022, a working meeting of the Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, Mr. A. Assavbayev with the National Secretary of TRACECA in the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. B. Aykan was held via videoconferencing

The Secretary General expressed his gratitude to the National Secretary for his active assistance in obtaining the approving position of the MFA of Türkiye on the issue of Turkmenistan's accession to the MLA TRACECA.

Within Agenda, issues of digitalization of transport documents (e-TIR, e-CMR, e-Permit) and other subjects were discussed. In particular, Secretary General Mr. A. Assavbayev emphasized that the PS needs to understand the position of the Turkish side with regard to piloting electronic transport documents and, in case of interest, the Permanent Secretariat is ready to work out further implementation with interested international organizations.

Taking this opportunity, Secretary General, Mr. A.A. Assavbayev thanked the representatives of the Turkish side for participating in the Presentation of the new Vessel Concept, the purpose of which is to reduce the cost of cargo transportation across the Caspian Sea for carriers of the MLA Parties.

In his turn, the TRACECA National Secretary in Türkiye expressed his support for the initiatives and willingness to make the necessary efforts to promote TRACECA initiatives within the framework of joint work.
 
In addition, the exchange of views touched upon the establishment of the Business Council, the TRACECA Fund and other topics announced during the Secretary General's visit to Ankara in June of this year.
