UzbekistanOn 25 January 2023, an additional discussion of the initiative to establish the TRACECA Fund was held via web conference
In compliance with point 2 of the Final Recommendations of the Meeting of the Permanent Representatives (National Secretaries) of the PS IGC TRACECA, held on 07 December 2022, as well as on the eve of the Sixteenth (Anniversary) Annual Meeting of the IGC TRACECA, the PS IGC TRACECA proposed to hold an additional discussion on the establishment of the TRACECA Fund.
The Ad-hoc Meeting was attended by representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Türkiye and Ukraine.
During the Meeting, Mr A. Assavbaev, Secretary General of TRACECA made a presentation covering in detail the background of the issue, the purpose and procedure for establishing the Fund, sources and procedures for financing, mechanisms for attracting funds, the decision-making process of the Steering Committee, etc.
Based on the results of the discussions and agreements achieved, the Permanent Secretariat will continue to work on finalizing the Rules of Operation of the TRACECA Fund, taking into account additional comments from countries and proposals, a corresponding comparative table will be prepared and further sent to the MLA Parties for further consideration.
