The Meeting of the Permanent Representatives (National Secretaries) of the PS IGC TRACECA was held on 25 February 2025 in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran

The Agenda of the Meeting of the Permanent Secretariat included discussion of the issues on preparation of the documents to be considered during the Seventeenth Annual Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA on 26 February of the current year.

The Meeting was attended by the Permanent Representatives (National Secretaries), experts from 12 MLA member countries, except Moldova and Ukraine, and the staff of the Permanent Secretariat.

The participants of the Meeting discussed the implementation of the Action Plan for 2022-2026 for implementation of the Strategy of the IGC TRACECA for development of the international transport corridor Europe-the Caucasus-Asia for 2016-2026. As a result of the discussions it was recommended to submit this document at the Seventeenth Annual Meeting of the IGC TRACECA for approval.

Within the framework of the discussion on the establishment of the TRACECA Business Council, the Parties agreed to finalise the text of the Main Provisions of the TRACECA Business Council in the nearest future.

In addition, the Agenda covered the issues on improvement of the TRACECA activity, where the proposals of the Turkish and Romanian Parties were considered. During the discussions, the participants heard the proposals on making amendments to some TRACECA documents.

The Parties welcomed the intention of Latvia to obtain the observer status in the IGC, and also considered the appeal of the Hellenic Republic on the extension of its observer status in the IGC.

At the same time, the MLA Parties considered the Agenda items on the financing of the PS IGC TRACECA, in particular the financial and audit reports for 2024, the draft budget of the PS IGC TRACECA for 2025 and 2026, etc.

At the end of the Meeting of the Permanent Representatives, the final package of documents was reviewed and adopted for further submission and approval during the Seventeenth Annual Meeting of the IGC TRACECA.
