Transition to digital economy is currently one of the main priorities for the development of the regions of Europe, the Caucasus and Asia


On October 18-19, 2022, the International Scientific and Practical Conference on "Logistics and its advantages in the development of transport communications” was held in Tajikistan with the support of the Government and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Conference was attended by heads and representatives of transport and road structures, as well as road and transport organizations, leading specialists, experts from a number of international and specialized organizations and institutes, scientific and business circles.

The main objective of the Conference was the exchange of information and search for ways to develop the transport industry, strengthen cooperation in the implementation of joint scientific and innovative projects, and organize business negotiations.
During the opening, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Azim Ibrohim, Deputy Minister of Transport and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Shahriyor Afandizoda, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Ilkhom Makhkamov, Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA, Mr. Asset Assavbayev and others delivered welcoming speeches.

Within the framework of the Conference programme, issues of logistics infrastructure digitalization, problems of organization and development of technological logistics, identification of recommendations and opportunities for improving the transport and logistics infrastructure maintenance, expansion of international support in the field of transport and logistics and strengthening cooperation in this area, possibilities of the human capacity potential of the industry, exchange of knowledge, experience and innovative approaches/solutions to ensure its sustainability and stability.

The participants of the meeting emphasized the need to ensure reliable and stable international transport, as well as the implementation of joint practical measures in the development of transport, transit and logistics capabilities to turn Central Asia into a hub for the intersection of North-South, East–West main routes.

In its turn, the Permanent Secretariat pays great attention to working with the transportation process participants of 13 countries’ private sector. One of the clearest examples of this is a Study Tour to Aktau (Kazakhstan), Baku (Azerbaijan), Tbilisi and Batumi (Georgia), with the participation of a delegation from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia and Turkey, held from May 16 to 24 of the current year for representatives of national associations of carriers and state bodies in the field of transport and customs of Central Asian countries. This event allowed representatives of state bodies and carriers to discuss current issues regarding border crossing procedures and transportation.

"The experience of countries with high penetration of information technologies demonstrates that the transition from paper to electronic transport documents significantly reduces the time and cost of transportation. In this regard, in the field of digitalization, the Permanent Secretariat is working on piloting several modern and new solutions for digitizing transport documents, where Tajikistan is actively involved," the Secretary General noted in his speech.

"In addition, joint efforts at the international level will ensure an increase in the competitiveness of transport, where logistics will become the main engine of further growth," Mr. A.A. Assavbayev stressed.

Also, within the framework of the Conference, the launch ceremony of the Global Transit Document (GTrD), under the trademark "dNET" from the Kulyab station of the SUE "Tajik Railway" was held.
