On November 24, 2020, a regular Meeting of Permanent Representatives (National Secretaries) of the PS IGC TRACECA was held in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, via web conferencing
During the Meeting, the Secretary General summarized the work carried out by the Permanent Secretariat.
In the Agenda the views of the TRACECA MLA member states were exhanged on priority issues, particularly on the Harmonized Conditions for the Transport of Goods under the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection pandemic, the draft Agreement on a Single Transit Permit (STP) of TRACECA, Methodology for Identification of Routes of the ITC TRACECA.
The Meeting approved the Harmonized Conditions for the Transport of Goods under the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection pandemic and recommended that Permanent Representatives assist in implementing the document’s provisions at the national level.
The participants of the Meeting noted that the implementation of the document's provisions will allow to harmonize the restrictive measures taken and thus coordinate the actions in the MLA member states.
The National Secretaries of TRACECA concerned countries informed that they are making every possible effort to agree on the text of the draft Agreement on a STP. The signing and implementation of this Agreement will be the beginning of the corridor’s digitalization.
The countries welcomed the completion of the Methodology for Identification of Routes of the ITC TRACECA and recommended that the project be submitted for approval at the next fifteenth Meeting of the IGC TRACECA, to be held in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2021. The approval of the Methodology will allow to rationalize the schemes of transport links, define the route identification criteria, and ensure the further development of the TRACECA corridor transport network based on the principles of openness, efficiency and consistency.
In addition, the countries approved the draft budget of the PS IGC TRACECA for 2021.
The results of the agreements in the format of Final Recommendations were adopted during the Meeting and will be sent to the TRACECA MLA Parties for further implementation.
