On September 27-29, 2022, an International Conference "International road transport: challenges and opportunities" is being held in Uzbekistan

The conference, organized by the Association of International Road Carriers of Uzbekistan (AIRCUZ), brought together heads and experts from more than 14 CIS countries, Baltic States, Ukraine, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and others, as well as representatives of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), TRACECA and competent authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On the first day of the conference held in Tashkent, speakers' speeches were heard on current topics, in particular on aspects for the development and improvement of road transport in the region.

At the opening session, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Makhkamov I.R. made a welcoming speech, noting the paramount importance of the joint efforts of all participants, from state agencies to carriers in the process of establishing a transportation chain.

During his speech, the Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, Mr. Asset Assavbayev expressed gratitude to the organizers of the conference, and drew the attention of the participants to the work done by the Permanent Secretariat and plans for the implementation of international initiatives.

Summarizing his speech, Mr. A. Assavbayev pointed out that "through the efforts of all TRACECA countries, including Uzbekistan and the implementation of TRACECA initiatives, together we will make a significant contribution to creating more favourable conditions for transportation in the region, where the transport component in the cost of goods and their delivery time will be an important factor."

The second day of the conference is scheduled to be held in Samarkand, where a Round Table on "Actual issues of B2B interactions at international road transport of goods (IRTG)" between representatives of the private sector will be organized.
