International Road Transport Union (IRU) is the world road transport organization, which upholds the interests of bus, coach, taxi and truck operators to ensure economic growth and prosperity via the sustainable mobility of people and goods by road worldwide.
Of particular interest is the various initiatives supported by TRACECA and became the main base of cooperation between TRACECA and IRU for the purposes of improvement inter-regional transportation and trade; strengthening transport capacity and to ensure effective communications between Europe, the Caucasus and Asia, the facilitation of international road transport, adoption of best practices and new technologies in the field of border crossings and customs.
Mr. Janusz Lacny, President of IRU and Mr. Mircea Ciopraga, TRACECA Secretary General exchanged views on the latest developments, projects and initiatives within IRU and TRACECA.
The issues of the investment possibilities, harmonizing legislation and removing non-physical barriers were also touched during discussion.
