TRACECA and CAREC Institute discussed opportunities for deepening long-standing partnership
On October 21, 2022, an exchange of views among representatives of the CAREC Institute and TRACECA was held.
The objective of the working meeting was to strengthen the dialogue between two structures, identify directions of mutual cooperation, coordinate the development of a joint Action Plan and actively work in areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the participants pointed out the main areas of activity carried out by TRACECA and the CAREC Institute. In particular, on digitalization, e-learning platform, impact of transport on the environmental sector, and data exchange as part of the work carried out on the analysis of Corridor Performance Measurement and Monitoring (CPMM).
The expansion of cooperation between TRACECA and the CAREC Institute will contribute to the further development of transport in the region.
The participants agreed to identify specific areas of cooperation and actively work on deepening relations in the TRACECA-CI format.

The origins of bilateral cooperation go back to the period of active development of the partnership between the CAREC Program and the TRACECA Permanent Secretariat. As a logical conclusion, after a long period of negotiations and practical steps taken by the PS IGC TRACECA and the CAREC Institute, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between two organizations on September 10, 2018 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to promoting the economic cooperation in the Central Asia and along the Silk Road through knowledge generation and sharing.
6 out of the 13 TRACECA member countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan) are also CAREC members.
