The Secretary General Mr. Zhantoro Satybaldyev and Delegation of the PS IGC TRACECA met with Mr Igor Runov, head of the IRU representation in CIS.

On 25 January 2010, Moscow, Russian Federation, there was held a meeting of the Secretary General , Mr. Zhantoro Satybaldyev and Delegation of the PS IGC TRACECA with Mr Igor Runov, head of the IRU representation in CIS. to discuss the possibilities for mutual cooperation between TRACECA and IRU and interactions for monitoring of  road routes in Central Asia and South Caucasus.

The participants discussed problems related to harmonization of the policies, legal and regulatory bases of safety and security of road and land transport in the region.

During the meeting Mr. Satybaldyev spoke on the activities of the PS IGC TRACECA directed to the development of international road transport taking into account the problem issues of the TRACECA corridor set out in the IRU Final NELTI Report.

The participants have agreed to activate co-operation between two organizations and promote joint initiatives in the future

In conclusion of the meeting, the participants expressed their wishes to practically realize the NELTI Project recommendations as well as hope for future mutual and fruitful cooperation.
