The Harmonized Conditions for the Transport of Goods are in the process of discussion of the TRACECA countries

The participants of the Meeting were the Permanent Representatives (National Secretaries) and experts of the MLA Parties, the PS employees.

Despite the gradual easing of the quarantine in the TRACECA countries, the importance of adopting of the Harmonized Conditions was noted. Indeed, these Conditions are aimed at unifying the measures taken by the TRACECA countries to ensure the most secure and uninterrupted transport in the TRACECA countries.

The participants of the Meeting highlighted that the Harmonized Conditions are a significant document. Especially under the possible threat of a second wave, bearing in mind that countries are taking the isolated measures, there is a necessity to harmonize the border crossing conditions.

In the Agenda, some National Secretaries also reported that the document on the Harmonized Conditions is being studied with the competent authorities and a number of important approvals are required within countries.

On the outcomes of the discussions, it was agreed that within two weeks the MLA member states will send the approved consolidated proposals, comments and amendments on the draft of the text of the Harmonized Conditions. They will also determine the position of the MLA Parties on the feasibility of holding an extraordinary IGC Meeting and adopting the Harmonized Conditions during the IGC Meeting.

The results of the agreements will be sent to the Chairman of the IGC TRACECA for consideration of the date of the Meeting.

It should also be noted, that currently the Republic of Azerbaijan is the Chairman Party in the IGC TRACECA.
