On 15 May 2015 Mr Mircea Ciopraga, Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA met with Mrs. Malena Mard, Ambassador, Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Azerbaijan and Mr. Toralf Pilz, Head of Political, Economic, Press and Information section of the European Union to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Participants of the meeting discussed the expediency issues of the transformation of TRACECA into an international organization. Mr. Ciopraga and Mrs. Mard stressed the necessity to draft step-by-step plan of activities and to create a Legal Working Group with the participation of the corresponding experts regarding the transformation.
Mr Ciopraga also underlined the significance and urgency for TRACECA the continuation and financing of the regional EU technical assistance projects for the member states of the MLA TRACECA.
During the meeting Parties touched the issues of the possibilities of further enlargement of TRACECA and latest developments for the last 5 years.
In view of TRACECA regional cooperation participants of the meeting discussed the political process in the region and operational activities in the context of the European Neighbourhood Policy and the Eastern Partnership.
Mr. Ciopraga and Mrs. Mard agreed to continue discussion on strengthening of mutual cooperation between TRACECA and the European Commission.
