Reinforcement of human resources and capacity building in Georgia contribute to the whole TRACECA region

On 5 May 2015, Mr. Mircea Ciopraga, Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA met with Mr. Irakli Sharabidze, Rector and Professor of the LEPL “Batumi State Maritime Academy” of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia

Mr. Ciopraga had opportunity to survey the new training center of the Academy. The representatives of the Academy provided presentation about their functions, reforms and future plans.

Academy promotes development of different maritime institution in Black sea region. Close location of academy with Batumi, Poti and Kulevi ports, Supsa terminal create good conditions for students of academy receive comprehensive education practice in these ports, same time academy will provide them with qualified staff.

Maritime Academy actively collaborates with different leading world maritime education centres and the International Maritime Organization. BSMA promotes Georgian Maritime Education status and personnel employment in the world maritime market.

During discussion with Mr. Sharabidze, Mr. Ciopraga mentioned that the successful implementation of Academy`s mission directly contributes to the development of reinforcement of human resources and capacity building in the maritime field of the Black Sea region as well as the whole TRACECA region.
