On September 20, 2023, a meeting dedicated to the coordination of interested parties’ positions on the text of the draft Agreement on a Single Transit Permit of TRACECA was held in Baku via web conferencing

In view of a number of amendments to the text of the Agreement that arose at the completion of internal approval procedures, the meeting was held with the participation of interested parties, in particular representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

During the discussions, proposals to the text of the draft Agreement received from the Republic of Kazakhstan were considered. In general, 12 items of the Comparative Table were considered, the remaining items were considered during the previous meeting.

Based on the results of the discussions, it was decided to send the revised text of the Agreement to the interested countries for its subsequent approval at the national level and soonest signing following the results of internal procedures.

The STP Agreement is focused on liberalizing permit systems in TRACECA region and simplifying road freight transport between countries due to the influence of the permit factor felt in relation to long-distance transport through the territories of several countries, which involves the necessity to obtain several permits.
