On February 3, 2021, TRACECA and the CAREC CFCFA exchanged views on on the prospects for bilateral cooperation

During the meeting, Mr. Asset Assavbayev, Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA and Mr. Makhmadali Shokirov, Chairman of the CAREC CFCFA discussed the possibilities of implementing joint researches and projects on the harmonization of the legal framework and simplification of border crossing procedures.

TRACECA and the CAREC CFCFA fully support the initiative on digitalization and stand ready to support the application of electronic transport documents.

Mr. Shokirov informed about the CAREC CFCFA initiative of carrying out a motor race together with the IRU and the MSD within the framework of the ADB project on the development of the Shymkent – Tashkent - Khujand Economic Corridor with the participation of the ADB and the involvement of a wide range of manufacturers in these countries, with the support of state structures and local akimats.
    
Taking into consideration the ongoing work on the implementation and piloting of e-TIR in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, this motor race will demonstrate the effectiveness of the application of electronic transport documents in practice.

During the meeting, participants discussed the possibility of holding an online meeting in the nearest future with large and experienced carriers and forwarders of the CAREC CFCFA that use the TRACECA and CAREC corridors. The main objective of the meeting will be discussion and development solutions on the problematic issues faced by carriers and forwarders.

The Federation of Carrier and Forwarder Associations (CFCFA) is an international non-governmental non-profit organization established in 2009 and bringing together the associations of carriers, forwarders and logistics associations of CAREC countries and of other countries in order to facilitate the development of transport, trade and logistics, and support the interests of national associations. CFCFA members are 24 associations from 9 countries.
