On February 21, 2020, within the framework of the Chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the IGC TRACECA, a working meeting was held at the Headquarters of the PS IGC TRACECA with representatives of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan

During the meeting, the ongoing activities and the Plan of Events of the Permanent Secretariat of the IGC TRACECA for 2020 were discussed.

In the framework of the Plan of Events the discussion touched on the issues of implementation of new initiatives on the development of international transport, development of agreements on transit transport with PRC, prospects of further development of the international transport corridor in the East-West direction, as well as the issues of cooperation with the European Commission.

The participants of the working meeting emphasized the necessity to activate the work of the international transport corridor Europe-the Caucasus-Asia, including the active involvement of business communities through holding of different events.

The issues of developing the transport and logistics system, using the transport potential of the TRACECA region, developing proposals and mainstreaming the list of problems of the TRACECA corridor were the subject of an exchange of opinions and discussions.

For their part, representatives of the Ministry of Economy stressed their readiness to contribute and support the work of the Permanent Secretariat in implementing the main provisions and objectives of the Basic Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for Development of the Europe- the Caucasus-Asia corridor.
