On February 09, 2021, the Third Meeting of the Working Group on finalizing the text of the draft Agreement on a Single Transit Permit of TRACECA was held via web conferencing

During the regular session of the WG, the participants unanimously agreed on the text of the Agreement and highlighted the paramount importance of the timely passage of internal procedures of interested countries.

Given the decisions taken, the Permanent Secretariat sent the agreed text of the Agreement via diplomatic channels and started to develop a draft Technical Guide for working with the information system (web-portal).

It is expected that the signing of the Agreement will take place within the framework of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA.

The Agreement is aimed at improving the competitiveness of the corridor and attracting additional transit cargo flows by simplifying the procedures for issuing and using permits, as well as reducing the number of necessary permits for transit traffic.

It should be noted that the first session of the WG on finalizing the text of the Agreement on a STP was held on June 30, 2020, and the second session on September 30, 2020, where the participants of the meeting expressed their conceptual agreement on conclusion of the Agreement and considered the countries’ proposals received at that time.
