On 6-7 September 2011 workshop on the development of Regional Action Plan TRAS was held in Antalya, Turkey

Development of the strategy was preceded by a lengthy work, both locally and at Regional Working Group (RWG) meetings held in Brussels, Istanbul and Odessa, with the participation of leading experts of the countries involved in the project, as well as with other stakeholders, actively participated in the preparation of this document.

The strategy represents a general framework for cooperation among the Black and Caspian seas in the field of maritime transport, particularly, maritime safety and security, and would form the basis for future work in the TRACECA member-countries. These priority actions will allow involved countries to focus on specific actions and deadlines for their implementation.

During the workshop, Mr. E. Biriucov Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA mentioned that Turkish side accepted the functions of the first chairmanship of the RWG at the meeting of Permanent Representatives of the PS IGC TRACECA in Milan (09 June 2011).

The signing of the final memorandum on TRACECA Regional Action is planned in the upcoming 4th Meeting of the RWG SASEPOL project in Brussels, Belgium.
