On 30 March 2021, in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Meeting of the Permanent Representatives (National Secretaries) of the Permanent Secretariat of the IGC TRACECA discussed the status of implementation of TRACECA initiatives via web-conferencing

The Agenda of the Meeting included the exchange of views of the TRACECA MLA member countries on 8 priority items, particularly on the Concept for the Development of Container Transport up to 2030, draft Rules for formation and execution of the budget of the PS IGC TRACECA, Agreement on mass and dimensions of transport vehicles performing interstate transportations along the road routes of the international transport corridor “Europe-the Caucasus-Asia”, etc.

The TRACECA countries concerned also informed about the status of the internal approval procedures of the draft Agreement on a Single Transit Permit (STP). The practical implementation of this Agreement will be the starting point for the digitalization of the corridor and the liberalization of road transport.

In addition, the National Secretaries considered the draft Methodology of Evaluating Check Points and recommended to submit the draft for approval at the IGC. The Methodology will contribute to the formation of country-specific recommendations in order to simplify border crossing procedures.

Furthermore, the participants of the Meeting unanimously approved the Information on the implementation of the Final Resolutions of the IGC TRACECA within the period from 2010 to 2020 and supported the PS proposal to update the list of decisions to be implemented and monitored.

The countries welcomed the completion of the work on the regulatory drafts - Rules of Procedure of the IGC TRACECA and Statute of the PS IGC TRACECA, as well as their further approval at the next Fifteenth Annual Meeting of the IGC TRACECA, in Sofia (Bulgaria) in 2021.

Given the current situation with the pandemic, during the Meeting, the Bulgarian Party informed about the possibility of holding the Fifteenth Annual Meeting of the IGC TRACECA in face-to-face format in September 2021. It should be noted that the Azerbaijani Party is currently the Chairman of the IGC TRACECA.

The results of agreements in the form of the Final Recommendations were adopted during the Meeting and will be sent to the TRACECA MLA member countries for further implementation.
