On 17 October 2017, upon official invitation of Mr. Ciopraga, TRACECA Secretary General, Mr. Justin Crevier, First Secretary of the US Embassy in Baku visited TRACECA Headquarter

At the meeting Mr. Ciopraga and Mr. Crevier exchange of opinions on the trade and transport opportunities in the Europe-the Caucasus-Asia region, particularly of TRACECA member-states as well as the issues of cargo transportation along the corridor.

Special attention during the meeting was focused on the recent visit of Mr. Ciopraga to New York and participation to the Expert Group Meeting on Financing Infrastructure Development for Enhanced Integration of LLDCs into Global Trade upon official invitation of Ms. Fekitamoeloa Katoa Utoikamanu, Under Secretary General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN OHRLLS), held within 3-5 October 2017. 

Secretary General added that this meeting was very good platform for participants to share their knowledge on the transit system and transport infrastructure in TRACECA region taking into account the fact that 7 out of 13 TRACECA member states are landlocked countries.

In view of the rapid growth and strengthening of economic relations of China in the world, Mr. Ciopraga has shared with Mr. Crevier on the successful results of the initial level of partnership between TRACECA and China. 

Mr. Ciopraga mentioned that on 8th September 2017, in Xi`an, China, the Memorandum of Understanding between the PS IGC TRACECA and Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce (SRCIC) has been signed.  

The participants of the meeting also discussed on future visions and plans in the region, further implementation of the Agreement of multimodal transport TRACECA and possibilities on the financing of new investments and infrastructure projects in TRACECA member-states.
