On 15 October 2019, upon the official invitation of Mr. Ciopraga, Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, H.E. Mrs. Muriel Peneveyre, Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan paid a visit to the TRACECA Headquarter

Mr. Ciopraga and H.E. Mrs. Peneveyre mentioned the importance of transport corridors nowadays for the Black Sea region, the South Caucasus, Central Asia as well as for the neighboring areas in the context of fast global transport development, and various initiatives, new created transport routes and the situation in the region as a whole.

H.E. Mrs. Peneveyre expressed her interest to the region of TRACECA countries, taking into account the recent participation in the First Trans Economic Forum, held on 12 August 2019 in Avaza city (Turkmenistan) along with Mr. Ciopraga and his speech with regards to the priorities and strategic development of international transport corridor TRACECA.

Mr. Ciopraga pointed out main achievements made within the programme so far, as well as the importance of further launch of technical and investment projects needed by member-states of the MLA TRACECA.

Mr. Ciopraga also stated about the huge efforts of the PS IGC TRACECA to strengthen the communication with the European Commission and its related structures (DG NEAR, DG MOVE), to resume the cooperation on the attraction of investments to TRACECA region via various platform – EU China Connectivity Platform, to promote transport dialogue through One Belt –One Road Initiative with TRACECA partners in China. In particular, signature of the Memorandum of Understanding with Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce (SRCIC).

During the meeting, H.E. Mrs. Peneveyre and Mr. Ciopraga mentioned that at the moment special attention is paid to the state-of-the-art technologies of carriage applying advanced transport-logistic schemes of freight transport in the region.
