On 14 December 2016, II Working Group Meeting on Multimodal Transport TRACECA was held in the mode of webinar

The web-conference has been organized by the Permanent Secretariat of the IGC TRACECA aimed at the development of a single multimodal transport document along the international transport corridor (ITC) TRACECA.

The meeting was attended by representatives of transport authorities and private operators of the TRACECA countries: Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Ukraine.

On the outcomes of discussions within webinar meeting, the views of the member states of the mentioned Agreement, as well as countries that have initiated the official procedure for accession to this Agreement, were as follows:

Armenia, Kazakhstan spoke for the expedience of using the CIM / SMGS consignment note as the basic single multimodal transport document.

Georgia spoke for the expedience of using the bill of lading FIATA as the basic single multimodal transport document. 

Ukraine spoke for the expedience of using CIM consignment note, SMGS consignment note as well as CIM/SMGS as document of TRACECA multimodal communication.

Prior to the webinar meeting, Kyrgyzstan submit a written notice to the Permanent Secretariat on their support of the idea of using the CIM / SMGS consignment note as a basic document of multimodal transportation.

On the outcomes of the webinar and in order to achieve consensus on this issue, participants came to common opinion to activate the efforts of the experts of TRACECA countries for the purposes of harmonization the positions of the Parties to the Agreement taking into account constructive suggestions and recommendations from the TRACECA countries.

It should be mentioned, the Agreement on Development of Multimodal Transport TRACECA, was signed during the 7th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA in Cholpon-Ata (Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan) on 16 June 2009.

At the moment, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine officially stated on accession to the Agreement.
