During the discussions on the latest TRACECA changes and perspectives, an exchange of views took place regarding the issues and integration prospects that are strategically important for the Europe- the Caucasus-Asia region, in order to further implement the main goals of the IGC TRACECA.

“At the moment, the priority actions of the Permanent Secretariat are aimed at further development and strengthening of cooperation with concerned entities, stakeholders and beneficiaries of the TRACECA region,” said Asset Assavbayev, TRACECA Secretary General.

The meeting participants shared their vision for attracting additional cargo to the routes of the TRACECA corridor, organizing regular container services, establishing tariff conditions in the Europe- the Caucasus-Asia region, and in general - about the effect of developing transport corridors in Central Asia.

Much attention was paid to the issue of digitalization in transport within the corridor, which will become a vivid example of the efficiency of transportation along the TRACECA routes.

They also noted such priority areas as improving border crossing procedures, harmonizing requirements for road vehicles in relation to their weight and dimensions, developing container traffic, determining competitive tariffs and preferential terms, and other issues.

The Parties emphasized the importance of interaction between the Embassies of the TRACECA MLA member countries accredited and involved in TRACECA activities in Azerbaijan, including the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Permanent Secretariat located in Baku to promote TRACECA initiatives and develop the entire Europe- the Caucasus-Asia region.
