On 06 May 2021, a meeting was held between Mr. Asset Assavbayev, Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA and Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the particular importance of implementing joint economic and transport projects that will be realized by all member-states of the TRACECA region.

In his turn, Mr. Asset Assavbayev, Secretary General informed that at this stage TRACECA has ample opportunities for the implementation of major projects through the expansion of transport lines, shared plans, initiatives, vision of prospects for the development of the international transport corridor’s potential, measures taken to attract stakeholders and business circles.

The implementation of TRACECA initiatives aimed at improving border crossing procedures, introduction of electronic documents, harmonization of requirements for road vehicles in relation to their weights/dimensions, development of container transport, digitalization of the transport and technological process of the corridor will become a clear example of the TRACECA efficiency and viability.

During the discussion with Minister Bayramov, Secretary General pointed out the relevance of timely support from all TRACECA MLA member-states in expanding the geographical activity and strengthening the transport dialogue with the EU sector units.

The parties agreed to take appropriate measures to support the activities of the international transport corridor Europe-the Caucasus-Asia TRACECA at the regional and international levels.
