National Secretariat of Kazakhstan actively supports the idea of TRACECA further enlargement

On 21 May 2015 in the National Secretariat of the IGC TRACECA in Kazakhstan Mr. Mircea Ciopraga, Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA met with Mr. Marat Saduov, National Secretary of the IGC TRACECA in Kazakhstan and other related representatives in transport field.

The main subject of the Meeting consisted in the discussion of proposals and visions regarding further institutional transformation of TRACECA into international organization.

Mr. Saduov noted the possible outcomes and benefits of TRACECA transformation into an international organization. Mr. Ciopraga informed that step-by-step activities are drafting and support and proposals from each of the member-country of the IGC TRACECA are highly appreciated. Among the first steps on the way of the implementation of this initiative are creation of Legal Working Group and the dates of the meeting are to be defined only after collection of the visions of the countries.

At the meeting the importance of the Chinese cargo passing through the territory of the countries participating in the MLA was stressed, which, in turn, will serve as an effective impetus for the integration, modernization and optimization of the TRACECA corridor.

Taking into consideration close ties and communication of Kazakhstan with China, it is very important to attract China to the latest activities of TRACECA and within process of reorganization as a strategic partner for whole region.

Mr. Ciopraga expressed his readiness to assist to Kazakshtan on behalf of the PS IGC TRACECA in cooperation with the Chinese side as one of strategic and economic priorities for all member-states.

Due to the fact that Kazakhstan is a transit country, the process of transformation can also be much more successful in case of establishing direct contact with China and bringing it as a financial partner.

Mr. Saduov added that China is one of the main priority of the President`s program of Kazakhstan "Plan of the nation - 100 concrete steps to implement the five institutional reforms."

Mr. Ciopraga noted that successful implementation of this program will contribute to the development of Kazakhstan and stand at grade with leading world powers.

During the meeting Kazakh side asked Mr. Ciopraga for assistance in speeding up the procedures of approval of the Agreement on «Silk Wind» project and its early signature by the Turkish side.
 
Discussion also touched the work carried out by the National Secretariat with the TRACECA technical assistance projects. In particular, Kazakh side highly appreciates the support of the «TRACECA Maritime Safety and Security II» project in view of the preparation to the IMO audit and the creation of the Maritime Administration.  

After the meeting Mr. Ciopraga and Mr. Saduov have been interviewed by National TV channel of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
