Mutual cooperation initiative between TRACECA and GUAM – a catalyst for development of the transport dialogue in the region

The GUAM is a regional organization for the development of democracy and economy. It should be noted that 4 GUAM countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) are at the same time member states of the MLA TRACECA.

For many years TRACECA has been cooperating with leading international organizations, financial institutions and operators in the development of Euro-Asian transport links and initiatives in order to ensure interaction of the TRACECA countries, while taking practical steps towards the implementation of strategic objectives in the transport sector and trade.
 
During the discussions, Mr Assavbayev and Mr Efendiyev exchanged views on the prospects for the development of the regions and mutual desire to establish closer contacts. Possibilities of promoting various joint projects and initiatives were touched upon, taking into account the economic, transport and trade situation of each of the TRACECA and GUAM member states, in the context of the development of routes in the Europe-the Caucasus-Asia region.
