Multimodal Transport and Logistics Forum has become a successful platform for the exchange of experience, development and promotion of joint initiatives

The two-day Forum brought together representatives of leading transport and logistics companies, business associations, international organizations and relevant stakeholders of the region, thereby providing an opportunity to exchange views and experience on international transport of goods by various modes of transport.

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Abdulkadir Uraloglu and the OTS Secretary General, Mr. Kubanychbek Omuraliev addressed to the participants of the Forum with a welcoming speech.

Within the framework of the Forum, particular attention was paid to rail transport, development of multimodal transport corridors, business engagement, as well as legal aspects of multimodal transport, etc.

During his speech at Session 4, the Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, Mr. A.A. Assavbayev emphasized the importance of legal norms providing conditions for the development of multimodal transport and ensuring transport connectivity, and also informed the participants about the work carried out by both the Permanent Secretariat and the member-countries in this direction.  

Concluding his speech, the Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA noted that "considering the changing geopolitical situation in the world, the development of multimodal transport between the TRACECA and OTS countries is of paramount importance in ensuring conditions for trade between Europe and Asia, where legal regulation creates all the necessary prerequisites. I believe that by joint efforts it is possible to make a significant contribution to improving the competitiveness of transport in the region, which is very important at the stage of reorientation of cargo flows and the demand for free transit of goods."

It should be noted that this event was aimed at promoting cooperation, fostering partnerships and enhancing the efficiency, sustainability and resilience of global supply chains with a specific focus on the development of multimodal transport routes through the Middle and Southern Corridors.

Session 5, organized jointly by the PS IGC TRACECA and OTS, was moderated by the Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, Mr. Asset Assavbayev. The speakers of this session – representatives of the Turkic Investment Fund, BSEC, IRU, ICTD, as well as Azerbaijan made presentations and took an active part in discussions on new opportunities for ensuring regional connectivity.

Within the framework of the Forum, the Second meeting of the Heads of Railway Administrations of the OTS, as well as the signing ceremony of agreements and MoUs between businesses were also organized.
