Mr. Mircea Ciopraga, TRACECA Secretary General had a meeting with Mr. Abid Sharifov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Mr. Sharifov stressed that one of the most important issues at the moment is the preparation of a draft Strategy of the IGC TRACECA for the development of the international transport corridor “Europe-the Caucasus-Asia” for the next years. He also noted that the continuation of the EC technical assistance projects and the Strategy are of great significance for the improvement of TRACECA activities.

The Meeting was attended by Mr. Musa Panakhov, Deputy Minister of transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Akif Mustafayev, National Secretary of the IGC TRACECA in Azerbaijan, Dr. Elshan Hajizadeh, Head of transport and communications department of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan and others.

On the outcomes, the participants of the meeting underlined the necessity of efficient solution of the issues TRACECA facing since there remained less than a year before the next Annual Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) TRACECA.

The Parties had a fruitful meeting and expressed their mutual striving for further close cooperation.
