Expanding the horizons of business cooperation and development of the business environment in the TRACECA region

In compliance with their agenda, the Parties shared information on their activities and areas of mutual interest.

Mr. Sandeep Mehta, Head of Airports, Ports and Logistics’ Authority of Adani Group noted the company's extensive investment opportunities. Over the years, the Company has positioned itself as a market leader in transport logistics and has built a portfolio of world-class transport and utilities infrastructure.
 
Chairman of the Supervisory Board of “Semurg Invest LLP” Nurzhan Marabaev reported on the progress of work on the commissioning and operation of the transport and logistics complex - the “Sarzha” terminal in the port of Kuryk. Representatives of Semurg Invest also informed the participants of the meeting about the activities, including the development of conceptual solutions for projects, the centralization of financial flows for the implementation of infrastructure projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
 
During the meeting, the Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, Mr. A. Assavbaev, also shared the current plans for the implementation of international initiatives aimed at the development of the ITC Europe-the Caucasus-Asia, in particular, the issues of increasing the attractiveness and sustainability of the corridor routes. The main areas of current work of the Permanent Secretariat include digitalization, containerization and facilitation of border crossing procedures in the TRACECA countries.
 
“One of the objectives of the Permanent Secretariat is the approximation and harmonization of the transport legislation and policies of the countries of the region at the intergovernmental level,” A. Assavbaev emphasized.
 
The Permanent Secretariat is also actively working to involve representatives of the business community and stakeholders in solving the problems of ensuring efficient transport links, which will ultimately contribute to an increase in the volume of cargo transported along the routes of the TRACECA corridor. At the same time, the Permanent Secretariat is endeavouring to improve legal norms and regulate issues at the intergovernmental level.
 
Following the meeting, the representatives of Adani Group and Semurg Invest expressed their interest in deepening cooperation with TRACECA, their readiness to get acquainted in detail with the action plan for the development of the corridor and discuss the possibility of further interaction.
