“Development of mutual dialogue with all related TRACECA partners will contribute to effective communication at all levels”, mentioned by Mr. Vassilis Maragos, Head of Unit (Regional Programmes Neighbourhood East)

Mr. Ciopraga shared with Mr. Maragos that within the IGC Meeting in Odessa, Ukraine took the Presidency in the Intergovernmental Commission and approved the main strategic document - IGC Strategy for development of the international transport corridor Europe-the Caucasus-Asia for 2016-2026, based on the TRACECA Master Plan which was worked out by EU-TRACECA LOGMOS II project and proposals of the member-countries

Mr. Ciopraga stated that upon the recommendations of the EU experts, the implementation of the Master Plan and Strategy is broken down into 3-4 year periods and TRACECA countries are currently in the process of the Plan development for the first period of 2017-2020. 

In addition, Mr. Ciopraga emphasized that it is very important for TRACECA countries to have clear understanding on the support of the European Commission for realization of the measures contained in these programme documents.  

During discussion Mr. Maragos and Mr. Ciopraga also touched the issues of the launching and implementation of new EU-TRACECA technical assistance and investment projects.

Mr. Maragos expressed hope that European Commission will create opportunities for further implementation of TRACECA pilot and project activities in accordance with specific challenges and needs of all TRACECA member-countries.

Besides, during the visit, it was decided that upon invitation of TRACECA Secretary General, Mr. Maragos will pay a visit to TRACECA Headquarter in Baku, on November 2016. The dates will be defined later.
