Containerization of cargo on the TRACECA corridor as one of the factors of effective development of the Europe- the Caucasus-Asia region

During the exchange of views and discussions of the current Plan of Events with the Secretary General of TRACECA, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan pointed out that he completely supports the idea of synchronizing actions with attracting containers to TRACECA routes in the context of the dominant development of container traffic in the region and the necessity to reorient a part of container cargo flows to the transport corridor.

In this regard, enhanced cooperation with the International Association TITR and the joint work carried out with the Permanent Secretariat in this direction are becoming relevant.

For his part, the Secretary General shared his plans regarding the containerization of cargo and stressed some priority steps for the introduction of a common information space, in particular, development of a mechanism for optimizing the transport component of export/import of goods for business entities in the landlocked countries, creating a platform for analyzing the best rates for multimodal transport, electronic processing of the loading data/transport unloading terms along the route, and others. 

During the meeting, Mr. Abdykarimov also emphasized that the Republic of Kazakhstan has a fairly developed network of transport/logistics centers (TLC), where all types of documentation procedures are carried out in a comprehensive manner, at one point and according to the single window principle. 

On the outcomes of the meeting, Mr. Abdykarimov and Mr. Assavbayev highlighted the necessity for coordinated work with participants in carrying out the transportation process, as well as the application of a flexible approach in the implementation of the tariff policy.
