A Single Transit Permit (STP) TRACECA is designed to ensure the efficiency of international transport of goods by road along the Europe- the Caucasus-Asia corridor

The Permanent Secretariat of the IGC TRACECA took the initiative and developed a draft Agreement on a Single Transit Permit TRACECA, and sent it to the countries to determine the positions of member states.

The main elements of the Agreement, conditions, the application procedure, and the application principles correspond to the objectives of the Basic Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for Development of the Europe-the Caucasus-Asia Corridor (MLA) and the Strategy of the IGC TRACECA for development of the corridor for 2016-2026.

A Single Transit Permit TRACECA initiative is aimed at improving the competitiveness of the corridor and will create the necessary conditions for attracting additional transit freight traffic in the future.

The implementation of a Single Transit Permit TRACECA will also allow to facilitate the procedures for organizing the international transport, to ensure the transparency of transportation, to introduce the digitalization, to reduce the time and cost of organizing the transportation process, and to promote the optimization of monitoring procedures.

Taking into consideration the views of the TRACECA countries, in the framework of the initiative it is proposed to establish an ad-hoc Working Group to finalize the text of the draft and to ensure the involvement of all the interested MLA Parties.

The draft Agreement is expected to be submitted for discussion at the upcoming meeting of the Permanent Secretariat, which is scheduled for June 11, 2020 via web-conferencing.

The composition of the Working Group on the development of the draft STP Agreement on will be determined additionally as the comments from the TRACECA countries become ready and received.
