LOGMOS Regional Seminar to determine action plans in Caucasus and Central Asia
On 3-5 October 2011 Tbilisi hosted the participants of the regional seminar organized by the LOGMOS project. The meeting determined action plans on logistics and motorways of the sea projects in the countries of Caucasus and Central Asia. The event has been organised in cooperation with the PS IGC TRACECA and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The meeting was attended by the transport sector stakeholders from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, and representatives of the European Commission.
The seminar encouraged continuation of the dialogue and regional cooperation within TRACECA intermodal transport and logistics dimensions. The LOGMOS team presented the results achieved since five months of the project start, and set the agenda for the future.
The stakeholders presented their development programmes aimed at the improved logistics services, containerization or Ro-Ro services in the TRACECA region. The specific action plans determined for development of the specific pilot project were discussed as a basis of cooperation in LOGMOS field.
This is the second regional meeting organized by the LOGMOS project since May 2011. After the LOGMOS conference the National Secretaries and maritime and rail technical professionals from the whole TRACECA regional took part at the PS IGC and expert working group meetings held in Tbilisi on 6 October.
