RAILWAYS in TÜRKİYE
Türkiye has determined the railways as the sector that needs improvement as a priority, in order to close the gap for years in the railway mobilization. As a result of this preference, which turned into a new railway mobilization, the construction of railways, reached an average of 135 km per year.
With the investments made, our country met the high-speed train, and the high-speed train transportation, which started between Ankara and Eskişehir on 13 March 2009, reached Konya on 23 August 2011. In order to knit our country with high-speed train lines, both project and construction works are continuing rapidly. In addition to the activities carried out in line with this goal of reaching 10,000 km of high-speed train lines in 2023, 6.375 km of roads were renewed on our lines.
As the planned works are completed, Türkiye's international and regional importance in the railway sector will increase to a great extent and Türkiye, which will take a much larger share from the approximately 75 billion dollars transportation volume between Europe and Asia, will become the heart of railway transportation.
