Since the beginning of COVID-19, the aviation industry has been given the necessary support with administrative, technical and financial regulations. As a result of this; Türkiye has been among the countries that achieved the fastest normalization in aviation after COVID-19. As a result of the measures taken, the post-COVID-19 recovery processes were 60-70% in the world compared to 2019, while it was 80-90% in our country. As a result of the support given to the sector during the pandemic process and the right steps taken, our aviation industry has recovered rapidly compared to other countries. According to EUROCONTROL data, Türkiye ranked 5th in Europe in total traffic statistics in 2021. It is seen that Turkish Airlines ranks 2nd among the airline companies with the most flights in 2021. Istanbul Airport, on the other hand, ranked second in the average daily landing and take-off traffic statistics in 2021. At Istanbul Airport, about 52 million passenger flights took place in 2019. Despite the pandemic, it ranked first among European airports with approximately 37 million passengers in 2021.
