TRACECA Secretary General, Mr. Eduard Biriucov met with a Marine and Port/Safety and Security Key Expert of the SASEPOL Project

During the meeting, Mr. Apperry informed the Secretary General, Mr. E. Biriucov on the current status of the project objectives and tasks, as well as the further activities planned for next year. Key expert noted that one of the main objectives is to facilitate international maritime passenger transport of passengers and goods, and to support beneficiary countries to improve and harmonize the safety, security and environmental protection in the marine industry.

The project intends to establish a national working group that will analyze the real situation of their countries' implementation of international rules and have the opportunity to share challenges and solutions with their neighbors, as well as to hold special training sessions on topical issues.

During the discussion, the Secretary General submitted comments on the report and emphasized the importance and perceptiveness of continuation of the project taking into account the objectives and tasks of the project.
 
Following the meeting, the Secretary General wished success to the project SASEPOL in the further implementation, and expressed hope of a constructive approach for solving problems arising during the transportation of goods along the TRACECA corridor.
