TRACECA participated in the ITF’s 4th Regional High-Level Dialogue for Asia

On November 11, 2025, in Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan) the International Transport Forum’s (ITF) 4th Regional High-Level Dialogue for Asia was held, organised jointly with the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of the TransLogistica Uzbekistan 2025 Exhibition.

The event was themed “Building Resilient and Seamless Freight Connectivity across Asia and Europe: Strengthening Corridors for Sustainable and Reliable Supply Chains”. The main objective of the Dialogue was to strengthen cooperation between the countries of Asia and Europe for developing integrated and multimodal transport corridors, as well as to find solutions for improving the resilience, digitalisation, and efficiency of international supply chains.

The participants of the Dialogue included ministers of transport, heads of international organisations, representatives of the private sector and the expert community.

  • Mr. Ilkhom Makhkamov, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan,
  • Dr. Young Tae Kim, Secretary General of the ITF,
  • representatives of the UN ESCAP, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and other international institutions, including TRACECA, were among the speakers.


In his address to the forum participants, Mr. Asset Assavbayev, Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA, emphasized that the development of transport infrastructure and investments in it are the cornerstone of the economic connectivity of the countries in the region. "Removing infrastructure bottlenecks and enhancing coordination between countries remain a priority, as does the development of digital tools such as the CIM/SMGS electronic consignment note and the TRACECA Single Transit Permit, aimed at simplifying procedures and increasing the efficiency of transit traffic," he noted.

The Secretary General also noted the importance of strategic planning and reported that TRACECA countries are currently working on a new Strategy for the development of the corridor for 2027–2036, as well as the establishment of the TRACECA Fund, which will ensure sustainable financing for transport and logistics projects.

During the discussions, the participants emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between countries and international institutions to implement joint projects aimed at developing transport corridors, digitalising processes, and promoting supply chain sustainability.

TRACECA's participation in this event confirms its readiness to actively cooperate with international organisations and partners to achieve common goals in developing transport connectivity, digitalisation, and increasing the sustainability of logistics chains in the Europe-the Caucasus-Asia region.
