Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA met the Team Leader of the TRACECA "Motorways of the Black and Caspian Seas" project

During the meeting Parties discussed the current status, further implementation plans of the project, Road Map of the MoS project, recommended to the beneficiary countries, as well as pre-feasibility studies of pilot projects developed within the framework of the project.

Consultants of the project gave a brief presentation on the project's strategy towards the implementation of the MoS pilot projects and emhasized their importance for the transport sector in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan - the beneficiaries of the project.

Within the framework of the meeting Parties exchanged views on some aspects of marine transportation in the region, existing barriers, the development of transport infrastructure on the Black and Caspian Seas, the issues of transport challenges.

During the discussion, Secretary General stressed the importance and perspectiveness of continuation of the project, expansion of beneficiaries, particularly, the interest of Moldova's participation in this project.

The participants of the meeting considered the necessity of joint efforts by all involved national and international organizations to ensure the development of maritime transport, as well as continuation of dialogue and constructive approach for solving problems arising during the transportation of goods along the TRACECA corridor.
