On 17 December 2010, in Yerevan Mr. Eduard Biriucov, the Secretary General of the PS IGC TRACECA met Mr. Manouk Vardanyan, Chairman of the National Commission TRACECA, minister of transport and communications in the Republic of Armenia

The meeting was devoted to discussing the relevant issues, transport matters and the prospects of further development of the “Europe-the Caucasus-Asia” transport corridor as well as the Action Plan for the next year of 2011.

In this context the participants touched upon the issues of subsequent reform of the IGC TRACECA structures, exchanged views on the possibilities of coming to a common understanding as regards the existing barriers on the way of freight transport along the TRACECA corridor. The Secretary General emphasized the importance of prioritization of the relevant issues, including the institutional strengthening of TRACECA.

The meeting participants stressed the necessity of joint efforts of all concerned national and international organizations in the context of traffic development and the increase of the TRACECA corridor competitiveness.
