On December 08, 2025, in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA, represented by the Secretary General, Mr. Asset Assavbayev, participated in the Customs Business Forum

The forum annually brings together experts from the public and private sectors, and leading representatives of national and international organizations in the field of customs management and transport, providing an opportunity for constructive exchange of views, experience and best practices.

The main objective of the forum was to strengthen customs and business cooperation to promote the harmonization of customs procedures and develop recommendations to improve the efficiency of customs activities.

Within the forum, the “New Digital Solutions of the Customs Clearance Platform” and “Digital Cooperation Platform” projects prepared by the specialists of the State Customs Committee were presented to the participants.

Presentations were also delivered on innovations jointly implemented by customs services and relevant government agencies in the area of ​​regulating and simplifying foreign trade operations, and discussions were held on the topics of "Facilitating Foreign Trade Activities – Customs Procedures" and "Transit and Logistics – Customs Operations."

The PS IGC TRACECA regularly conducts work in the field of harmonization and facilitation of procedures and formalities in border crossing points and maritime ports along the TRACECA routes, providing a platform for exchange of experience, discussion of ideas and further cooperation.

Taking into account the priority of implementing tasks on facilitation of customs procedures, the PS IGC TRACECA regularly organizes Workshops on customs issues along the TRACECA routes. Thus, in the current year, 2025, a Webinar on the Import Control System 2 in the European Union was held, organised by the PS IGC TRACECA in collaboration with the DG TAXUD.

Besides, in the previous years from 2022 through 2024, Workshops on customs issues were also organized, the details of which can be accessed via the links:

• July 02, 2024 – Workshop on capacity building in the field of Single Window and Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs),
• November 27, 2024 – Workshop on capacity building in the field of digitalization, electronic information exchange and bonded warehouses.
  
  

At the same time, on December 09, 2025, during the Workshop on customs issues via web conferencing, the TRACECA countries are planning to discuss the draft Agreement on the application of electronic documents along the ITC TRACECA.
