National workshop on ILO MLC, 2006

The European Union (EU) funded TRACECA Maritime Safety and Security II Project within its activities 5.3 organised a National workshop on ILO Maritime Labour Convention, 2006.

This Workshop was organised in Baku, Azerbaijan, from Tuesday 14 October to Thursday 16 October 2015.

The objectives of the workshop were to:

- raise awareness on the benefits of ratification of the ILO MLC, 2006;

- detail steps to be taken for effective implementation;

- emphasize the importance of dialogue with stakeholders and;

- foster an exchange of experiences with project partners having ratified or currently preparing for ratification of the Convention.

Maritime Authorities' Officials, maritime education institutions' heads, shipping industry representatives, crewing agencies and lawyers attended the workshop.
