Kazakhstan. Updated. Regime of transportation in terms of COVID 19 as of 7 May 2020

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection, changes have been made to the restrictive measures on entry into the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Particularly, the changes include providing isolation in a quarantine hospital for laboratory testing for COVID-19 for up to 2 days. All persons arriving from abroad to the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as persons arriving from the EAEU countries and the Republic of Uzbekistan through border crossing points across the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan on railway transport and auto-crossings, are subject to testing, with the exception of
- governmental delegations of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- members of official delegations of foreign states and international organizations arriving in the country upon the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- members of diplomatic missions, consular authorities and representations of international organizations accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and their family members;
- airline pilots and members of locomotive crews.


Persons with symptoms not excluding COVID-19, by passing the quarantine hospital, are hospitalized in a provisional hospital. 

After receiving the results of a laboratory testing for COVID-19, persons with a positive result are transferred to an infectious hospital for treatment, and persons with a negative result for COVID-19 are isolated at home (home quarantine) for 12 days.  

In case when there are no conditions for isolation at home, it is recommended to isolate in the premises specified by local executive bodies.Persons who arrived from the EAEU countries and the Republic of Uzbekistan through border crossing points across the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan on railway transport and auto-crossings are subject to laboratory testing for COVID-19 and self-isolation at home (home quarantine) for 12 days;Persons involved in rail and maritime transport activities and drivers engaged in international transport of goods by road, as well as transit drivers, are subject to laboratory testing for COVID-19 at border crossing points.

The list of changes also includes conducting sanitary and quarantine control with mandatory thermometry of all persons arriving from abroad, questionnaire of passengers, crew members, flight attendants, drivers and guides at border crossing points across the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan at international airports, railway transport and auto-crossings; data processing by the questionnaire recognition system and transferring  them to the web application of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan within two hours after the arrival of the flight, etc.

It should be reminded that the state of emergency in Kazakhstan has been introduced from 08:00 on March 16 and extended until May 11, 2020.
