Kazakhstan has opened the border crossing points on the borders with Kyrgyzstan and China

According to the amendments and additions to Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan from March 30, 2020 № 155  "On the temporary closure of automobile checkpoints at certain sections of the State border of the Republic of Kazakhstan" at  border-crossing points through the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kolzhat (Almaty region), Bakhty and Maikapchagay (East Kazakhstan region) until  improving the epidemiological situation to limit the access of persons, vehicles, cargoes and goods, except for the persons and vehicles, transporting medical goods and medicines, food products and goods transported under investment contracts, humanitarian aid, state orders, as well as the empty cargo vehicles. 

The government also excluded sub-paragraphs 1) and 3) from the previous Decree, according to which:
1) according to the sub-item the border crossing points with China – Kolzhat, Bakhty and Maykapchagay were temporarily closed;
3) the border crossing points on the border with Kyrgyzstan- Auhatty, Korday, Sypatay Batyr and Sartobe in Zhambyl region, as well as Kegen in Almaty region.


It should be noted that since April 4, 20 road vehicle crossing points on the border with Kazakhstan have been temporarily closed. Measures were taken to prevent the introduction of coronavirus infection from the neighbouring countries.

At the same time, Kazakhstan is preparing to open three road crossing points on the border with China.
